I'd Buy It

Dye o rama yarn 1

Why does yarn look so crappy until you skein it up? I was soooo worried about how this yarn was turning out. As I went down to retrieve it from the drying rack last night I was already planning an intense weekend of dyeing to make up for it. But a strange thing happened as I wound it up on my swift. It started looking better. When I took it outside to take pictures I realized that it looks really good. I’m not sure it’s exactly what I had in mind but it’s damn close. It's a quiet yarn without the dramatic highs and lows but I think it's nice in it's subtlety. What do you think? Really! Am I fooling myself?

It’s definitely something that I’d buy so I feel confident sending it to my Dye-O-Rama pal. I can’t tell you what I’m gonna name it because that might spoil my dye buddies surprise. Is the yarn green because of my dye buddies preference or is it because I was overwhelmed by Project Spectrum this month. Again, I just can’t say.

U-Neck Top backI can also show you the finished back of the U-Neck Top. I hit it with the iron a little bit last night and you can see the lace much better now. I think that these colors are just right. More importantly, the Drama Queen likes it.

With m needles free again I was compelled to start the second Green EL sock last night. I’ll cast on for the front of the sweater tonight. I also chose my partners for the Amazing Lace and I’ll introduce them to you in the next few days. Last, but not least, I ordered my Trekking XXL yesterday for the Trek Along and it should be here just in time for June 1. Nothing like waiting till the last minute.

It looks great! I felt that way about mine too, then when I started winding it got more and more gorgeous!

I really like how your yarn turned out. I'm going to have to try that technique of overdyeing next time.

I think the yarn looks fabulous!

Well I'd buy it, too. Love those greens, and muted changes while bright, saturated colours.

It's beautiful, and actually quite similar to the green yarn I dyed (that I'm keeping!!!). I also had tangle problems, and it took far longer to skein everything than I expected.

It's looks great! It always looks better in a skein! I had that same experience with my yarn. Oh, and my mountain laurel (is that what it is?) is in bloom as well! We have it all through our woods here in Central VA.

great job with the dye! I was all set to try the Wilton's and then my swap buddy's meme said she liked lighter colors. Well, that sends me back to the KoolAid :)

I had a heck of a time with winding the yarn too!!!
