Here's a pair of socks that I am thrilled to be finished with. I've already established that they're wicked bright and that brightness makes it so hard to photograph well. This time I didn't even try. Sorry.
For all my complaining about how loud these socks are, I was surprised to get many positive comments about them as I carried them about working on them. Granted, some of those adoring comments came from Stinkerbelle's friends in her GS troop. No big surprise that they'd be a hit with the 4th grade girls.
I was more shocked when some women I was commuting to work with admired them one day. At first I though that they were colorblind but then I thought that maybe it was the influence of the gloomy weather. That's gotta be it - right? Endless days of rain will addle anyone's brain.
Anyway, in the end these socks are nice aside from the color. I really love the pattern and how all the details work together. The cables that border the gusset - fab. The weave stitch - marvelous.
I've given it a lot of thought and I think I know exactly where these will go. I know a certain little girl, a niece, who's more girly than my girls and I bet that these will make her smile.
BTW, dont'cha love Stinkette's modeling job? What will I do when my girls are away at camp? Who will model the socks? Oh woe is me!
OH! My eyes, my eyes! :-D
ReplyDeleteThey are perfect for a grrly grrl.
They sure are bright. You'll love them when the dreary days of winter arrive.

ReplyDeleteI do kinda wish that you were going to wear them somewhere totally inappropriate...
It is interesting to discover which projects get the most complements. They are perfect for a young lady of that age, though!
