Remember how I said that I had a whole bunch of stuff to finish before I took my girls to camp? I'm a little embarrased to admit that some of the stuff on the list is STILL not finished. Case in point...
Here is the Shawl for DQ. Yes, it is still in the UFO pile and not yet in my darling daughters posession. I cannot tell you how much I just want to finish this. Thankfully the end is finally in sight. I've completed 12 repeats and I'm mid way through the edging now. I full expect to be able to block it tonight and mail it off to DQ by Thursday. She'll have it in plenty of time to wear it to banquet. Yay! That ought to make her really happy.
After I finish this I'll need to finish off a few baby gifts and my Sockapalooza socks. They're both in a pretty good place but I really don't feel nearly as inspired by them as I should.
I think that one of my biggest knitting problems is that what I want to do most right now is spin. This is all the proof you need of how badly I want to get back to my wheel. This is a bit of BFL that I dyed up over the weekend. It ought to be the last little bit for my Hanami Stole. Now that is some knitting that i cannot wait to sink my teeth into. I'm so excited that I've started toting around the first skein of yarn for it so that I can check out any beads I find to see if they could be "the ones". After all of the work that is going into this stole I really want it to be just right.

I get conflicted, too, between spinning and knitting. If only we didn't have to WORK.
Think of the unfinished shawl this way: it guarantees your daughter a package in the mail while at camp. From all the novels I read as a kid (having never gone to camp in real life), that was the utmost desire of every camper...
Lucky for me I didn't start the spinning thing...yet. I can only imagine. I just start too many knits and can't decide, then nothing gets done. I've been disciplined lately. What a great item to receive form home at camp! That should make her very, very happy!
