Ten on Tuesday - 10 Favorite Cook Out Foods

Now this is a topic I can really sink my teeth into especially since I'm planning our Memorial Day BBQ right now. I love just about everythng about BBQ's. Except the bugs - those I can do without quite nicely.

  1. Burgers - Can't have a cookout without them. Everyone does theirs differently. The secret ingredient in ours is onion soup mix but shhhh... don't tell anyone.
  2. Baked beans - I just love these.
  3. Potato Salad
  4. Cole Slaw
  5. Smores - We'll be eating these at our Girl Scout campout
  6. Margaritas - I'm soooo not a beer girl but a margarita or a cooler will do very nicely.
  7. Apple pie - Other fruit pies are good too but Apple pis is best - especially with crumb topping. Yum!
  8. Roasted Potatoes - I used to make them but now Stinkette insists on doing it herself.
  9. Pineapple on the grill - try it - it's delish!
  10. Steak - on the grill it's divine!

What are your favorites? Any tricks you care to share.

I was just reading about pineapple on the grill somewhere else - now I really want to try it! If you like it then I know I will, too. All the things on your list are wonderful!

Great shot, btw! I love the detail!

My mom makes an herbed potato dish on the grill that I love -- I think you parboil the potatoes. She peels hers; I don't bother. Combine olive oil, salt, pepper, and the herbs of your choice (we like thyme and rosemary and sometimes garlic). Pour olive oil mixture over the potatoes (now drained in a large bowl). Make an aluminum foil pouch and pour the contents of the bowl into it. Stick on the grill just after you start it up (because it will take longer than your meat) and take it off when the rest of your food is ready. Delicious!

Oh, this sounds so good, and I am mega-hungry. The baking bread is helping with that, too.
