Nothing Finished or Started.

Please imagine pictures of finished items or the start of my New Years sweater in this space. Instead all I have to offer is a ball of pretty red yarn because the finished items are not quite finished and my plans for the New Years sweater have changed.

I thought that this yarn would become Eris. I bought both the yarn and the pattern about 2 years ago and it's been marinating in my stash and at the edge of my consciousness ever since. With excitement I pulled it out on January 1st and started reading the instructions. I never got beyond that point. This yarn is not destined to be Eris. Not only that, but I'm not sure I'll ever make Eris. The more I looked at the finished sweaters on Ravelry, the more I realized that I just wasn't feeling it. Like I said in yesterday's post, my goal is to carefully consider the projects I choose to dedicate my time to and this just isn't it.

I am still feeling the yarn though. Literally. It's Shelridge Farm and I keep taking it out and pettting it. It's soooo yummy.

After looking through countless patterns for cardi's and buying a book full of them I think I've settled on a Drops pattern creatively named 113-17. I think it's a better fit and it'll make me far happier. Now I just need to find the time to cast on. Maybe after I put the finish to those afore-mentioned objects.

Interesting how plans change, directions veer. Open minds are a good thing. (The color is lovely. Even for a blue girl like me.)
