How Does Your Garden Grow?

DSC_0249It's not all flowers and yarn around our house. There are other growing things like strawberries. This is one of about 8-10 that are in various stages of development on my deck. It's the only one that's turning red at this point but I'm encouraged. Let's hope it's yummy.

DSC_0256And look here. This looks like a mess but, in reaity, it's a whole lot of very neatly planted seedlings that are waiting for a good day for planting. A day without rain. Without an over stuffed schedule. Without frost warnings. Yup - frost warnings. I'm writing this on Tuesday night and they're talking about frost warnings again. Isn't the first day of May just 3 short days away?

Thank goodness my classes are indoors. First class is steeking. I can't wait.

Frost warnings the next couple of nights here, too. We're waiting to plant tomatoes and such, but they say wait until Mother's Day.

That's going to be a really small strawberry shortcake. Heh.

Actually it's better to plant in the rain- unless of course it's pouring. The seedlings have a better chance of adjusting without the sun drying them out and the extra rain keeps the soil moist. Just my 2 cents worth. Are some of those corn seedlings I see? What fun. Congrats on the strawberry.

You have frost warnings - we have snow warnings. ;o) Norma is buried in it, from what I hear...
